Networking
Networking events sponsored by NPO are great opportunities to make contracts with your fellow physicians, their administrators and office managers. NPO is a wonderful vehicle to share ideas and get caught up on current events.
Advocacy
NPO works aggressively as an advocate to promote public policies, which protect and stimulate the leadership role of the physician in the healthcare arena. We have been a loud voice in the ear of state legislators as well as the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS).
In the past it has been necessary to inform the leaders of MSMS on the position of physicians in Northern Michigan regarding issues being debated in Lansing. NPO’s position is a strong voice which can be more successful at getting the attention of our policy makers.
Committees
NPO is a member-driven organization. Members serve on the Board of Directors and the committees that govern and guide the activities of NPO. When a members joins a committee and actively participates, not only are you giving back to the future of physician lead healthcare, you are investing in your own personal success and the community in which you live and work.
